Aren't jellybeans normally just sugar and wax anyway? I'm pretty sure the standard ones you get at the chemist are vegan.

I thought they had gelatin as well? The non-vegan ones, anyway.

Vegan can mean different things to different people. For example, some people object to standard white sugar because bones are used to bleach it.
To me, it means tasty good food with safe ingredients (as in, you won't lose sleep after finding out one day exactly what went into it). It's also easy to cook, which in my case is a definite positive. (-:
