Hi Greg,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
Yes, I did.
I have tried to disable the remote connection and then
tried to connect locally from the console.
But it still did not work (I have tried all
possible combination of the 3 protocols, shared memory, named pipes &
tcp/ip).
When I cannot connect locally, that was the thing that
confused me, what's going on here.
It was working perfectly on the weekend until my
administrator update the server (2003) with the following
patches:
1. Vulnerability in Web Client
Service Could Allow Remote Code Execution (911927)
2. Vulnerability in TCP/IP Could
Allow Denial of Service (913446)
3. Australian daylight saving time 2006 update
(912475)
I also did uninstall those patches but still having no luck
to connect locally.
I have tried to google as well, but still no
luck.
Aaarrrrrggggghhhhh,
Eka

Hi Ekasenna,
Have you run the Surface Area Configuration Tool and looked
at the state of the network protocols?
Regards,
Greg
