    Perhaps I should leave this for someone who actually knows but...   I do remember there was a reason to do this.  I just can't remember what it was.  It was in a fairly specific situation though.

    Hi Folks,   I'm doing a code review at a site today. The code is littered with:   SELECT TOP 100 PERCENT ....   or   SELECT DISTINCT TOP 100 PERCENT ...   I've never seen anyone write that before.
