As a follow-up to this... here are two articles (courtesy of ActiveWin) that might be of use :) http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/69867/microsoft-launches-sql-server-for-2005.htm l http://www.internetnews.com/ent-news/article.php/3485336 - Brett -----Original Message----- From: SQLDownUnderList@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:SQLDownUnderList@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Kent Tegels Sent: Sunday, 27 February 2005 12:23 AM To: SQLDownUnder@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [SQLDownUnder] SQL Server 2005 Express Just be careful not to intermix SQLExpress with the other Visual Studio Express SKU products in this sense. SQLExpress is the replacement for MSDE 2000, and yes, for exactly the reasons that Mitch gives, I have to believe its safe to use in an ISV application from a licensing prospective. Visual C# Express, for example, is a "new and different" thing and I wouldn't expect to have licensing to build commerical offerings with it. Thanks!
