<sect1><title>Getting Started</title>
  <para>
    Follow the instructions in the installation section of this user manual and then at a shell prompt type the following:

  To open a data set, select <command>File</command> - <command>Open</command>. Browse to the location of the desired
  data set and then click <command>Open</command>.

  After the data set has been loaded, use the <command>Maths</command> menu to carry out data processing. For further
  details of specific options, please refer to the chapter titled 'Using GDMS'.

  To close the data set currently in focus, select <command>File</command> - <command>Close.</command>.

  To exit the program, select <command>File</command> -  <command>Exit</command>. 
</para>

  To save the data set after processing, select <command>File</command> - <command>Save</command>.
  Choose the desired location and click <command>OK</command>.

  To save under a different file name, select <command>File</command> - <command>Save As</command>.
  Choose a location, enter the filename and click <command>OK</command>.
