| Chilis |
I hadn't been to Chili's (a chain restaurant in the US) in about four years, and we couldn't decide where to go for dinner. Given that all I remembered about Chilis was that they had good margaritas, and the kids menu looked ok online, off we went to give them a try.
They sucked. The service was extraordinarily slow (30 minutes+), the food was uninspired and over cooked, and my serving was too small. At least they weren't all that expensive.
This post is made in the hope that I'll remember not to go again.

You should check out Los Portales. A little dingy, family-run mexican place that has some of the yummiest food in Mountain View. And it is non-chain too.

I could have told you that...
Just for future reference, you should stay away from TGI Fridays and Olive Garden as well.

and Applebee's and Cracker Barrel and Ruby Tuesday and Red Lobster and Chi-Chi's and Friendly's (ESPECIALLY Friendly's) and P.F. Cheng's and Rainforest Cafe and Sizzler. Ugh. I find it amusing that wikipedia has a List of Restaurant Chains, and a separate and much larger List of restaurant chains in the United States.
You know what the most remarkable thing is about what you said. Your portion size was too small. I thought rule number one of American chain restaurants was to serve you *WAY* too much food, such that you get as fat as possible.
