i have a hp dv9205tx

is about 6 months old now but is quite nice
2 HD's, 2 gig, ram 17" wide screen, 2x 64bit 2gig cpu
big Video card too :)

another one i looked at was a ASUS G2

this was also a nice laptop, but i was not able to get one at the time
and it was about $500 cheaper

Hi All

 

I am hunting for a new laptop to start the new year off, and was wondering if anyone would care to share some thoughts or recommendations with me as to a reliable developer laptop with grunt. I'm looking at the Dell (Latitude series), Lenovo, and Alienware ( http://www.alienware.com.au/dnn2/default.aspx?tabid=104&ConfigurationID=53 ). I'm particularly interested on feedback from the latter if anyone's bought one.

 

I also don't know whether 64 bit is the way to go or not so any opinions would be appreciated. Budget isn't a problem but I want a machine that'll look after a developer for 2 - 3 years.
