just to add in another michael who agrees; i will also agree with michael and michael. my reason is that sometimes your _javascript_ may go through a compression phase and hence the 'source' you see in visual studio 2008 may not be the code that runs in the browser.

I love FireBug for debugging _javascript_. It is the best debugger I have used.

Ok VS sucks for _javascript_ editing. So what do the .net folks really use.

 

I just read some details about IntelliJ IDEA and it sounds kind of cute, built in refactoring etc. 

I'm curious if anyone is using this or any other editors to do their core _javascript_ coding, or mention ones that plain right suck.

 

Things that I'd like.

• Notification of file modified/prompt to reload (since I'll have file open in VS and another editor at same time)
• colour coding,
• intellisense
• squiggly lines for errors (I know I'm petty)

Nice to have:

• built in refactoring (simple) like method/function renames.

 

PS I'm on a PC not a Mac.
