I love FireBug for debugging _javascript_. It is the best debugger I have used.

Aptana was the one I was gonna suggest as well - it's great, especially the intellisense. One thing that irks me about it though is that whenever you open up a script, it generates a database file for intellisense and dumps it in the same folder as your script, littering your code folders with files.

There is no refactoring support though.

Ok VS sucks for _javascript_ editing. So what do the .net folks really use.

 

I just read some details about IntelliJ IDEA and it sounds kind of cute, built in refactoring etc. 

I'm curious if anyone is using this or any other editors to do their core _javascript_ coding, or mention ones that plain right suck.

 

Things that I'd like.

• Notification of file modified/prompt to reload (since I'll have file open in VS and another editor at same time)
• colour coding,
• intellisense
• squiggly lines for errors (I know I'm petty)

Nice to have:

• built in refactoring (simple) like method/function renames.

 

PS I'm on a PC not a Mac.
