Interesting that they have different dialogs – normally these types of differences are a result of a different profile template being selected the first time VS is run.  Not saying this is your issue but might be. Pretty certain under the Tools menu there is the ability to Export/Import settings, which allows you reset back to one of the defaults.

    Hope this helps

Can anyone explain why two different installations of VS2005 have different New Project options, toolbars and menus?

On machine A when I create a new C# Windows application and the bottom of the dialog has these text boxes:

    Name: ____

    Location: ______

    Solution: _______

    Solution Name: ______

On machine B only has a ‘Name:’ text box.

On machine A the standard toolbar has a combo to select the build configuration and the solution context menu has a Configuration Manager menu. Machine B has none of those.

What’s going on here? How can we fix it?

    Thanks
