I’ve finally installed absolutely
everything I can find for Framework 3.0, WCF, WPF, Smart Software Client
Factory and Guidance Package and Extensions. I’m not sure I’m
getting everything I need to start a new Smart Software Client Factory project
that way I expect. I’m sure that my old machine with all
this stuff installed had a Smart Software Client Factory project that prompted
with wizards and generated a complete skeleton of a solution with nicely
organised projects. You could right click and add various things like disconnected
endpoints (or something like that). It was a complete and rich set of projects
with the simple ability to add new components. I can’t find this facility
on my new machine, even after installing what I thought was everything I needed.
In Visual Studio 2005 I now see the new project types: The NET
Framework 3.0 group contains 4 types of WPF and 1 WCF projects. The Workflow
group contains 6 types of workflow projects. The Guidance
Packages group contains a Guidance Package project. Where on earth is the Smart Software Client
Factory project with all of the wonderful wizards and extensibility that I had
on my old machine? Have I missed installing something vital? I don’t have
access to the old machine, so I can’t compare what’s installed. Urgent advice on this matter would be most
welcome. Thanks Greg Keogh |
