I think its not what its hyped up to be. Requirements is minimum 10 years of exp plus intensive study.. they at MS call it PHD equivalent... however recognition comes slowly and in numbers.. if there're only 1000 architects in the world.. no employer will even know about it. Unless they themselves are into certification and regularly read up on these sort of things. By specifying a minimum 10 years limit they're discrimination against younger developers. Who are equally talented and skilled. Requirements should be competency based not age based. I am very disappointed with MS in this regard !
