Paul No you don’t “need” a
degree. Speaking for myself I am in deep gratitude for the fantastic
preparation for my career that was provided for me at UTS especially by people
like John Hughes who remains a mentor to me even now. UTS was very
practical and even though the technology is long since irrelevant (we were the
last year to learn Fortran 4 on punched cards) they taught me to be a
programmer, analyst and IT professional. In the end a skill is only as useful as
its use and that is why we have great people like Paul (don’t get to
proud I’ll probably say something horrible later). So I’m thankful for the start it
gave me but also thankful for this list for keeping me A. On my toes and B. Up
to date. Geoff Orr FrontRow Data Solutions Pty Ltd From:

been to Uni and thought I might have to throw in my IT job and get a job as a
gigolo or something.... ;-) Paul Glavich |
